The last few months have been busy with little people! We love babies at Camera Works Photography and especially love photographing your babies milestones. First portraits taken within the first month, then again at 3, 6 and 9 months with a big birthday photo shoot at 1 year old. Many of our clients bring their babies back for each birthday which is so fun for us. Seeing these little people begin to crawl, walk, talk and of course eventually run all around the studio is amazing. Here is a sample of a few recent baby photo sessions. Hope they make you smile too!
So tiny and precious, little girls are so "girly" from the beginning, sweet and pink and cute!
I'm always looking for soft, plushy fabrics to use with babies. Anything that you just want to rub against your face, like their favorite blankie!
This little travel case/hat box has been a great prop for posing babies, and the pink satin was a great find.
Little boys are so fun, especially when mom and dad get creative with props. Cowboy boots are in the background of this shot, but I love the close up of his precious little face.
Rockin' to sleep with dad's guitar!
So cute with his First Birthday balloons.
This little one year old was already running about! So funny and cute.
Cake photo shoots are very messy, but very fun! When else will mom let him get covered in cake and frosting?
He is a little bronco! Love the hat and overalls!
We have lots of amazing backgrounds. This beach scene is one of my favorites. So cute with the little sailor suit he's wearing.
Always going at 2 years old! I think Hugh is getting tired of pedaling!
Thanks to all of our wonderful clients who bring us their beautiful children to be photographed! We love making memories for you.
It could have been a disaster but, Jennifer and Alex had a beautiful wedding anyway! On July 27th Kingman had a HUGE monsoon! Rain so heavy the run off was up over the curbs and drowning vehicles! Jennifer and Alex had planned a beautiful outdoor wedding in Jennifer's family garden. Hours of work had gone into preparing for the special day. When by 5PM things had not cleared, plans had to be quickly changed. Luckily the families church had a building available and the family and friends went to work. They moved tables, chairs, decorations and food over to the building and with a small delay, the wedding went on! Luckliy for Jennifer and Alex they have plenty of friends and family who jumped in and showed them just how special they are! Thanks so much for inviting us to be a part of your wedding day :)
A stormy wedding day!
Flooded streets, parking lots, and continual rain! This was during a lull!!!
No rain touched the gorgeous wedding dress!
Or the beautiful shoes!
Class rings were tied to the ring bearers pillow :)
The sky cleared enough for a couple of outdoor photos of the groom and his best man.
Ready for the wedding, Jennifer had her girls laughing......
Lots of laughter during a sweet ceremony. You could tell they truly are in love.
A sweet first dance to start their happily ever after!
This week we started up our 2013-2014 school year photography with the Mohave Valley School District! It was fun being back and seeing all the familiar faces of staff and students. We had some great student helpers at each school and appreciate the cooperation of the teachers and staff! Thanks so much for making our first week of the new school year so enjoyable :)
Our Crew with Christina Stahl, principal at Mohave Valley Junior High. Thanks Christina! Your students were awesome!

Maria is graduating with the class of 2013! We had a lot of fun at the River taking the outdoor portion of her senior portrait session.
It is always fun getting to know the kids, talking about their dreams for the future and their plans for after high school.
"Honestly, I didn't even want senior pictures. Now that I got them done it was the best day of my senior year".
For most of the seniors we photograph, they are the first professional portraits they have had taken. It is such a great time for this, high school seniors are at a special high point in their lives. They are soon to be adults, going out into the world to further their education or enter the job market. Physically, I think all high school seniors are beautiful! They haven't developed wrinkles or gray hair yet! They are adult but retain that touch of innocence we all lose at some point! What better time to have a professional portrait created?
Thanks Maria! We wish you all the luck and happiness in the world! Congratulations!
At Camera Works Photography we photograph a lot of families. Many are clients who return to us on a regular basis. They like to update the portrait they have hanging on their wall. For these families, having a professional portrait portraying their family at different stages is important. Many include their family pets in the portrait. Many include the grandparents, and often we have multigenerational family portraits with 3, 4 and 5 generations represented.
We counsel our clients on clothing for their portraits. It doesn't sound important, but the clothing in a family portrait can make a huge difference. Imagine one of the people above wearing a red shirt? Where do you think your eye would head first? So if everyone has on similar colors, the faces become more prominent, that is where the eye goes when you view the portrait.
3 generations plus the pets!
Posing is also super important in family portraits. When you are working with people of all different sizes and
shapes, and also adding in a small child, special attention needs to be taken to make sure everyone is clearly
visible in the portrait.
It's easy to just line people up and take photos. It takes practice and study to understand how to place bodies
together. Craig has studied classical portraiture and posing and takes great pains to make sure everyone looks
good in your family portrait.
When you have adults, children AND pets, it gets even more challenging!
Trust your family portrait to a true professional....Camera Works Photography!
